Juliette Roanoke, this is an ambitious piece in such a short breadth. The poem operates on two levels, two poems with two different voices: the poem in italics, and the poem commenting on the poem, which mimics bipolar by how they clash jarringly so, but that’s intentional.

I have schizoaffective disorder, which is like schizophrenia and bipolar combined, so I relate to this poem, that duplicity inside us all, more pronounced with those “mentally ill”.

The poem itself is bipolar, which is brilliant. Well done.

Steven.
